Hi All,

Greetings for the day!!!

Today new issue and solution .

Today discussing about – Microsoft 365 outlook – mails are not opening . 400 Bad Request

I was logged in to my SharePoint online portal and to check the mails I opened OUTLOOK from launch pad as in below snap.

But OUTLOOK does not opened

Issue: We are getting the error as in below snap.

Something went wrong

Please try the recommended action below

  • Sometime we get – 400 Bad Request as

  • If we notice bit detailed error snap, we will found some more error details like

Unhandled Rejection : Error: 500 : undefined

err: Microsoft.Exchange.Clients.Owa2.Server.Core.OwaUserHasNoMailboxAndNoLicenseAssigned

Solution

  • From above errors its clear that the respective user do not have “Exchange online” license
  • We can verify this as in below snap from Users – “Licenses and apps” tab as
  • From apps tab we could see that “Exchange Online (Plan 2)” app is disabled – we need to enable it

  • Enable the app – “Exchange Online (Plan2)
  • Lets again check “Mail” tab – we will see the updated message – “We are preparing a mailbox for the user.

  • As mailbox prepared successfully for the user we will see the respective details under “Mail” section / tab

  • Now if we try to open the “Outlook” it will open successfully as
Microsoft 365 - outlook opens successfully after assigning "Exchange Online" license
